Dear Editor,
We live in Sesmarias, near Galé beach, and this is what happens to our water regularly.
We have water cuts on a regular basis. Sometimes weekly.
On Wednesday, April 9, the stoppage lasted about fours hours, from 3pm until 7pm.
This time, Albufeira Water told us it was a broken pipe, but mostly it is because of a development on Estrada do Castelo about a kilometre away.
The water gets turned off with no warning.
As if the cuts are not bad enough, when the supply is restored, this is what we get; filthy water.
Many, many litres of filthy water until it clears. This is supposed to be drinking water. I would not supply that to an animal!
After a stoppage a few months ago, I wrote to the Câmara and asked for a reduction in my water bill to take account of the volume of filthy water that we have to pour away..
I was given a firm NO as an answer.
That cannot be right.
