Linen-etc staff steps up to leadership

The new leadership comprises four team members

After nearly two decades of dedication, Karen Carfrae, the founder of Linen-etc, has handed over the reins of her beloved company to part of its staff.

Karen’s decision comes after a nine-year cancer battle. “I still had the passion for it, but I lacked the energy”, Karen told the Resident. Though her decision to sell was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic and market challenges, she is pleased to have achieved her vision of transitioning the company into the hands of her trusted team, calling it a “great legacy” and a “win-win” for all involved.

The new leadership comprises four team members: Leila Oliveira, Ângela Moreira, Paula Pereira, and Ana Vicente. Together, they aim to maintain Linen-etc’s reputation as a leading company specialising in high-quality bedding, towels, and soft furnishings.

Their decision to acquire the company was inspired by Karen’s invitation and a strong desire to safeguard jobs while ensuring the continuity of a successful business, the team told the Resident.

“Our mission has always been to create a stable work environment for our workers and contribute to the continuity of a successful legacy,” the new management team said. “We believe we have the know-how and motivation needed to take the company forward and face the challenges of the current market.”

The management’s expectations for this new chapter are “very positive and motivating.”

“With our renewed vision and combined efforts, we are confident that we will be able to not only maintain the excellence of the products and services that our clients have come to expect of us, but also modernise and expand the company into new horizons,” the new owners said, sharing their vision for a “more innovative and agile” company, with a “clear vision of its sustainable growth.”

They state that the company will continue to focus on offering quality products at the “best possible price, which was and always will be a pillar of our brand.” The team is also planning to introduce new products and expand its digital presence in a bid to reach more clients. “We already have an intuitive online presence, but we want to improve the client’s experience even further,” the new management said, adding that the goal is to offer a “more personalised and efficient service.”

“Our vision is to adapt to change and grow in a sustainable and innovative way,” they added.

Linen-etc has two stores in the Algarve: one in Odiáxere, Lagos (Rua da Torre, Parque Industrial, Lj 1) ) and the other in Lagoa (Rua Parque Empresarial, 3). The company also has a website – www.linen-etc.com – showcasing its selection of products.
