Ten PSP police stations will be closed down in Lisbon by May this year. The move has been announced by the Ministry for Internal Administration which said in a communiqué to Correio da Manhã newspaper that the idea nonetheless was to “reinforce the presence and visibility” of the capital’s police force. The reorganisation – motivated by “operational reasons” – will see the closure of stations at Cais de Sodré, Martim Moniz, Rossio, Chelas, Bela Vista, Bairro Horta Nova, Bairro Padre Cruz, Quinta do Cabrinha, Arroios and Santa Apolónia. According to “i” newspaper, these should all be shut by May this year.
