“r.u.a spec-saver?” campaign aims to send gift of sight to India, Africa and Eastern Europe
Christ The King Anglican Church Algarve has this week launched the “r.u.a spec-saver?” campaign. It needs your old and used spectacles – prescription glasses, reading glasses, sunglasses, bifocal glasses, any kind of glasses, in any condition.
“This summer we are partnering with the Lions Club to send the gift of sight to people in India, Africa and Eastern Europe,” said a spokesperson for the local church.
So, how do you get your old specs to them? “We have two drop-off points or send us an email and we will make a plan for collection. Please help, those of us who wear spectacles know how wonderful the gift of sight truly is.” Just glasses are needed; no boxes or holders required.
Drop-off points:
- Rua 5 de Outubro, Lote 12, São Brás de Alportel (Saturday am);
- “The Church in the Park”, Jardim das Comunidades, Almancil (Sunday am).
