Algarve Photo Club was formed in 2022 in Carvoeiro
The Algarve Photo Club will unveil a new photography exhibition at the Manuela Vale Gallery of Lagoa’s Mestre Fernando Rodrigues art school next month.
Entitled ‘Tribute to Algarve’, the exhibition sets out to “show our love for the Algarve from the perspective of our camera lenses,” the Algarve Photo Club says.
The photo club was formed on a “sunny winter day in January 2022” when a “small group of people met up in Carvoeiro.
“What they had in common was a great interest in the art of photography. After a couple of coffees, the Algarve Photo Club was born. Over the years, more members have joined,” the club says.
“The aim of the photo club is to develop our love for the camera together, regardless of our level of knowledge or the type of photography we prefer, to encourage each other to try new things and develop our techniques. While we have fun, of course,” it adds.
The ‘Tribute to Algarve’ exhibition is described as its biggest project yet and will be inaugurated in an invitation-only event on November 9 at 6pm.
It will open to the general public the following day and can be visited between 9.30am and noon and 2.30pm and 5pm from Monday to Friday. Admission is free.
