The municipal council of Loulé has congratulated local gymnast Gabriel Albuquerque for finishing in fifth place in the men’s trampoline final at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, having secured an Olympic diploma for Portugal.
The local authority says it was an “historic day for Portuguese sports,” as the 19-year-old achieved Portuguese gymnastics’ “best result ever at Olympic Games.”
Albuquerque competes for local club APAGL – Associação de Pais e Amigos da Ginástica de Loulé.
