Loulé Mountain Fair highlights local traditions for Christmas

Between December 8 and 10, the fair will showcase local products, crafts, gastronomy and culture as original festive gifts.

Making the most of the long weekend, Loulé is hosting its annual Feira da Serra de Natal between December 8 and 10.

This year’s edition of the much-anticipated event will be held in the former Carnival warehouse next to the Convent of Santo António.

According to the Municipality, the event aims to show visitors “the cultural richness of the mountains, particularly the Serra do Caldeirão, through its food products, crafts, gastronomy and culture”.

With around a hundred exhibitors, the organisation believes the fair offers “an excellent opportunity to purchase original and unique Christmas gifts, creative pieces made by local artisans, contributing with this gesture to the local economy”.

The fair will also feature plenty of entertainment with the travelling duo “Ti Marquinhas and Ti Gregório” and the “Luza Tripp Christmas Elves”. There will also be performances by the Grupo Amigos de Loulé, accordionists Filipe Romão and Mito Algarvio and musical groups Beira Serra and Allcante.

The event also features various activities for children, such as palm weaving, woodworking, tapestry and cork-making workshops at Loulé Criativo.

The fair is free of entry and takes place on Friday and Saturday (December 8 and 9), from 10h00 to 21h00, and on Sunday (10), from 12h00 to 21h00.
