Portuguese doctors trained in Venezuela are fed up with the difficulties they face getting their qualifications recognised by the Portuguese State. Around 100 doctors have been pushing to practice in Portugal âfor a long timeâ, a source has told dnoticias in Madeira. Recently, the doctors raised a petition, hoping this may advance their cause. Says the online, in Madeira there are at least 10 Luso-Venezuelan doctors âin this situationâ.
Some have âgiven up waiting for the green-lightâ and already gone to work in Spain. Others are sitting it out, working in supermarkets or waiting tables.
Said Christian Abreu, a doctor in this position in Madeira, the âbureaucracyâ is stopping many doctors in Venezuela who want to leave from choosing Portugal.
