Madeleine McCann: race is on to ‘press charges’ on final suspect

German prosecutors denounced Christian Brückner as Madeleine’s abductor/ killer almost five years ago

Authorities in Germany are said to be scrambling to come up with an accusation against the ‘final suspect’ in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann nearly 18 years ago. Christian Brückner has been protesting his innocence from behind bars since prosecutors outlined their theory – but his lawyer has now put in for early release, which could mean that he ‘disappears’ before authorities present the evidence they need.

The suspect’s lawyer, Friedrich Fülscher, has always maintained the case was built from ‘the worst witness anyone could get’.

Press flurry in the UK suggests Brückner could be released “within days”; some reports admit to “weeks”. ND
