Mainland airports handle 4.3% more passengers in first 11 months of 2024

The number of passengers at Portuguese mainland airports rose by 4.3% year-on-year up until November to 65.73 million, Statistics Portugal (INE) has announced today. According to rapid statistics on air transport, Lisbon airport handled 49.4% of all passengers (32.5 million, up 4.3% year-on-year), followed by Porto, with a share of 22.5% and 14.8 million passengers (+4.9% compared to the same period in 2023). Faro airport registered 9.5 million passengers in the period under review, up 1.9% year-on-year, while figures for Madeira and Azores have not yet been presented, but will almost certainly show increases.
