PJ police have arrested a 28-year-old man for attacking his brother with a chainsaw in Odeceixe, in the municipality of Aljezur, on Tuesday.
The attack happened after the two brothers got into a heated argument, the criminal police force says in a statement.
The man is said to have used a chainsaw to “destroy the door of the container where the victim was laying down” before “attacking” him several times.
The victim was taken to Portimão Hospital but was transferred to Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon due to the severity of his injuries, PJ police added.
Meanwhile, the attacker was due to appear before a judge.
