A 42-year-old Portuguese man has died after being hit by a train at the railway crossing in Portimão.
The tragic incident happened at around 11.30am this morning, regional rescue operation command (CDOS Faro) told Lusa news agency.
Details are still scarce. All that has been revealed is that PJ police are investigating.
The Algarve’s railway between Portimão and Faro was cut off for around two hours.
