A 55-year-old bureau de change employee in Portimão was shot in the neck during a robbery on Monday at around lunchtime.
Reports Correio da Manhã, the man was treated by Portimão firefighters before being taken by helicopter to Lisbon’s Santa Maria Hospital, where he was operated and remains in stable condition.
By the time PSP police arrived at the scene, the shooter had already fled. PJ criminal police are investigating.
