One of the men has been remanded in custody for attempted murder
A 57-year-old man had to be rushed to the hospital after he was stabbed in the head by a 30-year-old neighbour following a petty argument over their pets in the small town of Tunes, Silves.
The violent row happened on April 1 when the younger man lost his temper and attacked his neighbour with a pocket knife, leaving him seriously injured.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and were able to stabilise the victim’s condition before taking him to the hospital. “If it weren’t for the quick action of pre-hospital emergency services, (the man) could have died,” PJ criminal police say in a statement to the press.
The perpetrator of the attack was tracked down and arrested for attempted murder on the same day with the help of GNR police, PJ add, stating that he appeared before a judge and was handed the harshest possible punishment – preventive detention.
The investigation is now in the hands of the Public Prosecutorâs Office in Silves.
