A foreign man has been arrested by PJ police in Portugal under an international arrest warrant issued by Saudi Arabia in February.
Authorities believe the suspect is part of an organised group involved in smuggling subsidised diesel out of Saudi Arabia. The case dates back to November 2014 and centres on the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. If convicted, the man could face a sentence of up to three years in prison.
The suspect is set to appear before the Lisbon Court of Appeals, which handles extradition cases.
