Marcelo suggests new form of listening to President Trump’s speeches

In line with almost everyone else (besides Israeli politicians), Portugal’s president Marcelo has said ‘one should not take Donald Trump’s proposal for Gaza as definitive’, recalling that what is important is not to listen to “the first speech” of the leader of the ‘free world’ but to “various speeches”, as themes develop. He was referring specifically here to the form in which the US narrative on Greenland, for example, has changed. So too is the narrative on the future of Gaza – or at least, it seems to be.
