McDonald’s to hire 100 new management team members in Algarve

McDonald’s currently employes over 10,500 people in Portugal

Fast food chain McDonald’s has announced a major recruitment drive in the Algarve, with plans to hire over 100 new management team members.

The company, which currently employs over 10,500 people across 208 locations in Portugal, aims to fill various management and public relations roles in Portugal’s southernmost region.

Positions include roles in Public Relations, Shift Management, and Restaurant Management. Applicants interested in management roles are required to have a degree in Hotel Management, Business Management, Tourism, or a related field. These roles will involve overseeing daily operations and team management for each restaurant.

For Public Relations roles, candidates with a high school diploma or those pursuing higher education are encouraged to apply. This position focuses on “enhancing customer experience”, organising events like birthday parties, and managing other activities related to the job.

Applications can be submitted through the company’s website.

Besides competitive starting salaries and employment contracts, McDonald’s says it offers a range of additional benefits, including health insurance, performance bonuses, and even scholarships for eligible employees.

“McDonald’s restaurants seek to, on a daily basis, foster a good working environment, based on collaboration and teamwork,” the chain says, adding that each employee receives tailored training and a career development plan to help them meet their goals.

The fast food giant also says its employees have grown with the company throughout its 30 years in Portugal, with over 90% of current managers who started in entry-level roles, and half of the corporate team in Portugal, beginning their careers in restaurants and now holding key positions both domestically and internationally.
