Meatless ‘Beyond Burger’ for sale at Apolónia Supermarkets

The Algarve’s Apolónia Supermarkets have started selling ‘Beyond Burger’, described as “the world’s first plant-based burger that looks, cooks and satisfies like beef without GMOs, soy or gluten”.

These meatless patties have been a success in the US and have now arrived in the Algarve at the Apolónia Supermarkets in Almancil, Lagoa and Galé, which will be offering clients a taste of the ‘Beyond Burger’ on Saturday, October 5.

This plant-based burger aims to cater to the increasing number of people who are following vegetarian or vegan diets or who simply want to reduce their intake of meat, especially red meat.

This “innovative product” will also be one of the highlights of a fair that the supermarkets will be hosting until October 14 which will showcase several “alternative food products”.

As Apolónia points out, it stocks a large number of vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free products, many of which are sold with discounts of up to 50%.
