For the first time, on November 2 and 3, the annual fair will be held at the FATACIL venue.
For the first time since its creation, the Autumn Mediterranean Gardening Fair is taking place at the FATACIL venue in Lagoa.
Dedicated to creating sustainable Mediterranean gardens with minimal water use, the fair’s 2024 edition will be open to the public November 2 and 3 between 10h00 and 17h00.
The event relocated to Lagoa as its usual venue in Silves was not available. “Following very positive discussions with the Câmara de Lagoa, we have been welcomed enthusiastically by them to hold our 2024 Autumn Garden Fair at FATACIL in Lagoa,” said the organization, adding, “Our sincere thanks go to the President of the Câmara, Luis António Alves Encarnação and his team for their rapid response to our request and positive support for this event.”
Celebrating this year the 10th anniversary of the Mediterranean Gardening Association Portugal (MGAP), the event will feature several exhibitions and a selection of plants suitable for Algarve gardens.
According to the organisation, “visitors will be able to purchase native plants and seeds, as well as ornamental and aromatic plants, fruit and garden trees, proposed by specialised suppliers.”
A programme of talks, workshops, free demonstrations “and advice on how to care for and maintain your garden sustainably in the future” is also planned, says the MGAP.
Visitors can also pre-order plants from growers for collection during the event.
The fair will also feature stands selling plant and gardening-related crafts, high-quality botanical art, and a variety of organic products.
The organisation asks that, to reduce waste, visitors should bring their own bags and boxes.
The entry fee is €1.
