At a moment when the wider media is focusing on elderly people and parents resorting to theft in order to put food on the table, Correio da Manhã has reported on a break-in at a minimarket in Coimbra which scooped over €600-worth of salt-cod, alcohol and “other products”. The assault took place at 2am on Friday, with images ‘caught on CCTV cameras. The thieves were men, two of which actively filled buckets with shop produce as the third kept watch outside. Coimbra PSP are investiging.
