According to SIC Notícias, the name of José Luís Carneiro, current minister for interior administration, as principal PS candidate for Braga district “may be in jeopardy” because supporters of Pedro Nuno Santos (who won the leadership contest against Mr Carneiro) “have excluded the faction that supported Carneiro from the list of eligible parliamentary candidates”. In other words, the in-fighting already attributed to PSD appears to be just as prevalent in the rival PS.
