Moita helps with veterinary expenses for cash-strapped families

With cases of animal abandonment still riding high, in spite of the law requiring pet owners to chip their animals, the municipality of Moita has come up with a way to try and help cash-strapped families do the right thing by their pets.

The “cheque-veterinário” will act as payment, or at least part-payment, of veterinary care, as long as animals benefiting are duly chipped, and their owners use of any of the participating veterinary practices.
