Moscow has reportedly criticised Portugal today for its decision to send six Russian-made fire-fighting helicopters to Ukraine, suggesting it is a “violation of contractual obligations”. MFA Russia (followed by the Russian embassy and various Russian government missions) has tweeted: “We ask our (Portuguese) colleagues to stop taking steps that could discredit Portugal as a reliable partner.” Following on from yesterday’s antics in parliament, this is taking the issue well beyond the bounds of sanity.
