A 43-year-old man killed his 45-year-old wife and 17-year-old stepdaughter today in the municipality of Sesimbra, Setúbal district. According to Lieutenant Colonel Adérito Rodrigues, of the Setúbal Territorial Command, the alert over a case of domestic violence was received at around 1.30am. When police arrived at the house, they found three dead bodies and a 16-month-old baby, who escaped unharmed and has been handed over to relatives. According to the GNR, the offences were committed with a “bladed weapon”. The bodies were taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at São Bernardo Hospital in Setúbal while Setúbal Judicial Police investigate.
