It has become increasingly clear that the police operation in Rua do Benformoso, Martim Moniz, before Christmas was rooted in the clear and present danger that citizens run in the area, in spite of the unhelpful images.
Today, an(other) altercation in the busy street resulted in one person being injured, and another being arrested in possession of “two large knives”.
A police source has told Lusa that the incident took place around 8.20am when authorities received “information about a stabbed individual with a lot of cuts on his arms, face and torso”.
The victim was taken to hospital conscious, according to the same source, who also said that the suspect arrested for possession of knives “may not have been involved in the stabbing”, but was arrested because what he was doing was still illegal.
