The reopening of Tivoli’s first all-inclusive hotel unit, scheduled for March 21, will be marked by the arrival of General Manager Jason Marques.

The Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort is reopening on March 21 with a new General Manager. Boasting extensive international experience in hotel chains in Asia, Africa and Europe, Jason Marques will be responsible for managing the resort’s operation and the team.

With a degree in Sustainable Tourism from the former Instituto Superior Dom Afonso III (INUAF) in Loulé, Jason Marques initiated his career in the hotel industry at the Pine Cliffs, a Luxury Collection Hotel & Resort in the Algarve in 2003.

Nine years later, he headed to Algeria to work as Front Office Manager at Le Meridien Oran Hotel & Convention Centre, where he quickly became Director of Rooms & Green Belt. Still in Algeria, he moved to the Sheraton Club des Pins Hotel & Resort as Director of Rooms.

In 2016, he accepted the Executive Assistant General Manager role at Le Meridien Fishermans Cove in the Seychelles. In 2018, he worked in Asia as a Resort Manager at the Constance Halaveli Maldives. In 2020, he returned to the Seychelles Islands to open a new resort with the Marriott group as General Manager and Owners Representative.

In 2023, he took on roles at the Marriott International head office in London as Senior Manager of Franchise Operations in Europe, Africa & Middle East, where he was responsible for 116 hotels in southern Europe.

I return to Portugal and the Algarve after several years abroad, an experience I intend to share when carrying out my new duties. The Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort is a recent unit in the Minor Hotels portfolio, and I am committed to contributing to its success”, emphasised the new General Manager.

The Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort, Tivoli’s first all-inclusive hotel unit, is located 600 metres from the sea. It has 491 rooms, spread over 112 thousand square metres (m2), five outdoor swimming pools and six restaurants and bars.
