New Madeleine poster launched

A NEW Help Find Madeleine poster was launched today (Thursday, August 2) by Kate McCann in Praia da Luz.

Distribution of the pink A4 sheet was due to begin in Huelva, just across the border in Spain, but a food poisoning scare last night prevented Gerry McCann from travelling.

Although Gerry was confined at home all day, Kate was determined the launch should go ahead today so Praia da Luz, where the couple have been staying since May, was chosen for initial distribution.

Several events have been organised to mark the fact that tomorrow is three months since Madeleine disappeared.

This evening (Thursday) a special vigil will be held at St. Vincent’s Anglican Church in Praia da Luz at 9.30pm. It will focus on a moment of prayer for all the children deprived of freedom, especially Madeleine, according to information from the church.

Provided Gerry is well enough, the couple plan to be at El Corte Ingles in Huelva at 10am tomorrow (Friday) to distribute the new posters and will follow this with a visit to the Huelva Cathedral to pray for Madeleine’s safe return.

Kate McCann told The Resident: “Gerry and I want to remind people that our lovely little girl is still missing. Tomorrow will mark three months since she was cruelly snatched from her bed.

“We do not know where she is, or where she has been taken, but would urge tourists and residents in Portugal and Spain to keep looking for her. All we want is to be re-united with Madeleine and to be a happy family once again.”

The McCann family remain convinced that Madeleine is alive and ask anyone with any information about her whereabouts to contact the police.
