Ten brand new television sets and a larger multi-use screen have been donated to São Brás de Alportel’s Centre of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (CMRSul) by the Municipal Council of São Brás de Alportel and Lions Club of Vilamoura.
As the partnering entities pointed out, “spending the Christmas season in hospital is a harsh reality (for patients),” particularly during the downtime when patients aren’t undergoing therapy or treatment. Thus they made “made an effort to put this equipment at the disposal of the patients as quickly as possible,” the council said in a statement to the press.
The equipment was delivered to the centre on Tuesday, December 19 in an event attended by São Brás Mayor, Vitor Guerreiro, and Deputy Mayor, Marlene Guerreiro, accompanied by Lions Club Vilamoura President Jorge Madeira, Vice-President Rosa Guerreiro, and two active members of the club, Fátima Madeira and Rui Magalhães, who “symbolically handed over” the items to the Clinical Director of CMRSul, Arminda Lopes.
