The Algarve Municipalities Association (AMAL) will be purchasing 30 new life-saving ventilators for the region’s hospitals to help them deal with the coronavirus outbreak.
The Algarve’s University Hospital Board (CHUA) is also planning to buy an additional 30 ventilators to add to the 30 it already owns. This means that the hospital’s current total of 30 ventilators could soon treble.
The problem, however, may actually be purchasing them as global demand surpasses availability.
