Ocean, Vila Vita Parc’s two Michelin starred restaurant, has been named as the leading restaurant in the Algarve by the influential Portuguese food and wine website Mesa Marcada.
Meanwhile, Hans Neuner, Ocean’s executive chef, has been named as the region’s top chef in the same poll.
The annual Mesa Marcada awards, now in their fourth year, are voted for by professionals working within the Portuguese hospitality industry, who are asked to name their favourite restaurants, chefs, wines and winemakers in the country.
The awards for Vila Vita Parc, therefore, represent the ultimate recognition for its talented chef and his team by their peers in the industry. Ocean Restaurant earned its first Michelin star in 2009 and its second star in 2011 and, as its name suggests, offers spectacular Atlantic views from its terrace.
Seating 40, it re-opens after its short winter break on February 8, when it will be open for dinner from 7.30pm to 10pm from Thursday to Monday.
