Vila Vita’s iconic beer festival returns between September 25 and October 6 with traditional Bavarian food, music, and plenty of beer.

From September 25 to October 6, the Algarve Oktoberfest returns to Vila Vita’s Biergarten for the annual Bavarian-style beer-packed celebrations. This iconic Algarve event, much anticipated by beer, schnitzels, sausage and German folk music lovers, has brought Munich’s authentic festival spirit to the region for over ten years.

Located in Porches, just off the EN125, Vila Vita’s beer garden is the perfect setting for the party, lasting more than a week. Long tables invite friends and family to gather and enjoy a traditional Southern German meal, and the typical costumes worn by the team and some of the diners bring German tradition and its typical flavours to the Algarve.

From the Brewer’s boards covered in charcuterie produced at the Vila Vita Biergarten’s Metzgerei (Butcher’s) to the iconic sausages of various types, schnitzels, classic bretzels, sweet Apfelstrudels, and some vegetarian options, the flavours of Germany are well represented.

The menu wouldn’t be complete without beer, the highlight of the celebrations. Various types will be on tap, with a particular focus on Erdinger, one of the most renowned German breweries and the event’s partner.

There is also live music from the typical “Oompah” band Münchner Gaudiblosn, who, every year, purposely comes from Bavaria to put the finishing touch on the night’s experience. Before that, the Al-Fanfare Balkan Brass Band takes care of the late afternoon entertainment in a celebration that starts every day of the event at 17h00, except Sundays, when it kicks off at 13h00.
