One person was killed and another injured in a violent crash on the EN125 road near Portimão Hospital.
Traffic is cut off on the road as one of the vehicles caught fire, killing the driver who was caught inside. The driver of the other vehicle was injured although no further details have been revealed.
The accident happened shortly before 3pm on one of the few stretches of the road in the area that does not have a solid white line.
Twenty-eight members of GNR, INEM and firefighting forces are at the scene of crash.
