Orquestra do Algarve hosts Christmas concert in Altura

On December 13, Maestra Constança Simas will conduct a magical performance full of seasonal classics at the Igreja Matriz de Altura.

The Igreja Matriz de Altura is hosting a Christmas Concert performed by the Orquestra do Algarve on Friday, December 13, at 21h00.

Christmas time promises to be magical in Altura with this free concert featuring Maestra Constança Simas and cultural and artistic mediator Rui Baeta.

“The repertoire combines classic pieces with new contemporary versions, creating an engaging, fun and exhilarating musical experience, with the interpretation of essential pieces from this festive season”, says Castro Marim City Council.

«Silent Night», «Hark! The Herald Angels Sing», «White Christmas», and «Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas» will be some of the songs performed by the choir, along with the orchestra’s instruments, in Altura.

“To the sound of the orchestra, we will travel by sleigh through snow-covered landscapes and remember Christmas’s unique colours, lights, smells and flavours. But the public will have a different and fundamental role in this concert! Encouraged to sing by Rui Baeta, who will mediate and directed by conductor Constança Simas, in a spontaneous, tuned, and very musical choir”, points out the Orquestra do Algarve.
