The municipality of Pampilhosa da Serra, in the interior of Coimbra district, has launched a campaign about the tranquillity of the municipality and its unique conditions for observing the night sky. The campaign, “A message from one of the most peaceful places in the Universe”, with film support, promotes the starry sky as the municipality’s main attraction. Mayor, Jorge Custódio, says the campaign aims to highlight the serenity of Pampilhosa da Serra and the region’s unique conditions for seeing stars and planets. “An incredible spectacle that can be seen with your feet in the mountains and your eyes on the sky, all year round”, he tells Lusa, inviting visitors “to experience the magic of this place, one of the most peaceful on Earth, and to share this peace with the whole world“.
