Parliamentary speaker believes Attorney General wrong to give RTP interview

Well over a week since she went on air in the first television interview of her almost six year tenure, Lucília Gago has been further criticised for her decision by parliamentary speaker José Pedro Aguiar Branco, who said today that she should have spoken earlier “and in parliament”. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of an event at ISCTE, in Lisbon, the PSD speaker said that had Ms Gago ‘broken her silence’ earlier there might not be the “disproportionate and misplaced judgements” being made in relation to the actions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
