Parque da Mina turns into ‘Christmas Park’ this weekend

For the first time, Parque da Mina in Monchique will be hosting a ‘Christmas Park’ this weekend (December 14-15) which organisers say will turn its “beautiful natural landscapes into a never-before-seen Christmas portrait”.

Festivities begin on Saturday at 10am with the arrival of Santa Claus followed by the opening of the many Christmas attractions which include a slide, a house of mirrors and street entertainment.

Visitors will also be able to see the park’s animals, take part in workshops on how to make Christmas decorations or even explore a gaming and virtual reality area. There will also be a Christmas market selling traditional and regional products.

The event will be open on both days between 10am and 6pm.

Tickets cost €7 for adults and children aged 12-plus, and €5 for visitors up to the age of 11. There are also family tickets available for €20 (two adults and two children), €24 (two adults and three children) and €28 (two adults and four children).
