The west coast town is preparing to celebrate the legume with peanut-based dishes and musical entertainment.
Famous for the production of the legume, Rogil is hosting a two-day event to showcase the peanut.
Promoting the local economy, traditions and tourism, “Amendoim em Festa – Rogil” returns for its third edition on October 26 and 27.
The date chosen took into account the end of the peanut production cycle, coinciding with the period immediately after its harvest.
Starting at 11h00, during the two days, visitors will have the opportunity to sample various peanut-based food products in taverns and at the stands of sweet shops or local producers at the event.
This gastronomic exhibition will also include honey, sausages, liqueurs, and other local products.
On Saturday, October 26, Itinerant Band Tokemtudo will take the stage, followed by the «Oh My Dog» band. The night will end with Emanuel Martins and Tânia.
The following day, the 27th, “Rota do Amendoim”, a walk-through of the Amendoim em Festa 2024 venue, is scheduled to start at 10h30. Musical entertainment will feature fado with Zélia Viana from 15h00, followed byClaudia Martins & Minhotos Marotos and Ritmo Jovem to end the night.
“Amendoim em Festa 2024” will also feature performances by local groups: Rogil Guitar Kids with Telma Silva, Algarve Guitar Youth Orchestra (Aljezur), BOX 18 Hip Hop groups, ballet group Viz a Viz and the School of Infantes and Cadets of the Volunteer Firefighters of Aljezur.
