Russian pianist Konstantin Lapshin has stepped in virtually at the last moment after István Lajkó broke a leg and is unable to play in the Algarve this month, as we reported in last week’s edition of the Algarve Resident.
Konstantin will give two concerts at Os Agostos country estate near Santa Bárbara de Nexe. The first will be on Tuesday, June 12 when Konstantin will play music by Mozart, Schumann, Bach and Liszt. The second concert will be on Thursday, June 14 and feature pieces by Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Debussy and Liszt.
London-based Konstantin Lapshin completed his studies in the Moscow State Conservatoire with Lev Naumov and Mikhail Voskresensky.
Moving to London, Konstantin completed his Master of Music degree at the Royal College of Music in 2009 on a full scholarship. At the RCM, Konstantin won the Chappell Gold Medal and the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Rose Bowl, the college’s highest prize for the most outstanding student. He subsequently played for HRH Prince Charles and in the same year was the nominated ‘Rising Star’ to play at the Cadogan Hall, London.
Konstantin has won many international prizes and has given recitals and concerto appearances at various concert halls across Europe.
Concerts begin at 7pm sharp. Doors open at 6pm for drinks and canapés. Entry donation is €25 per person.
