Pestana Blue Alvor Beach opens after a €10 million revamp
Alvor’s iconic Pestana Delfim has reopened as Pestana Blue Alvor Beach, a new all-inclusive hotel.
After undergoing two phases of renovations to the tune of €10 million, the hotel has reopened as a new resort geared specifically towards family holidays with its “unique location” offering direct access to Alvor beach and “one of the best views in the region”.
“With a décor inspired by the sea, developed by interior architect Jaime Morais, each detail was designed to merge with the harmony, comfort and beauty of nature,” the Pestana hotel group says in a statement.
The hotel features three pools, a padel court, gym and a multiuse field, as well as a nearby golf course, Pestana Alto Golf. There is also a kids club and daily entertainment, while the hotel’s “spacious rooms” can house up to four guests.
There are also two thematic restaurants: Fuego, which “explores the surf and turf and live cooking concepts”, and Luigi, an Italian cuisine restaurant. A third restaurant, Acqua, acts as the main restaurant where the breakfast and lunch buffets are served, as well as dinner.
Pestana Blue Alvor Beach also features two bars, one in the hotel lobby (Bubbles) and another outdoors (Coral), as well as a food truck in the pool area.
The group highlights the hotel’s proximity to the Alvor boardwalks, described as “the largest in the Algarve, stretching over 6 km – from Três Irmãos Beach to Ria de Alvor – crossing landscapes of undeniable beauty” and providing opportunities for birdwatchers to “observe several bird species.”
Pestana also highlights how guests will have access nearby to all kinds of water sports, diving and snorkelling, as well as skydiving at the Portimão aerodrome in Montes de Alvor.
Prices for a double bedroom in an all-inclusive regime start at €167 per night.
