The association’s SNiP (Spaying & Neutering) campaign growing over the years and gaining momentum.
“Our spaying and neutering programme has excelled itself. Raising money through events and ‘Pop-Ups’ has helped. But our shops in Alvor and Silves mustn’t be forgotten. We can’t thank our wonderful volunteers and the public enough,” she grins. “Although ‘Carlos’ may think otherwise!”
Following their credo ‘Here to Help’, Team APAA are celebrating their 30th anniversary. “We actually have been going for longer. But we lost the official date in the annals of time!” Celebrations? “We have decided to donate funds to other shelters and charities who need that helping hand.” Such as? Wigglestail and Tiny have been on their past lists, along with ARA and Cadela Carlota. “Some of the monies are for fencing and improving animal housing. Including industrial washing machines.” A panel of seven will deliberate the fortunate winners.
In the meantime, we know that The Holistic Day with Paul and Pasi in Portimão was a sellout. Their kind donation of over €300 was split between APAA and Portimão Soup Kitchen. APAA’s Anita was along with a ‘mini pop-up shop’ and raised over €120. Congratulations!

- Friday, May 24 – Pop-Up classics on sale at Manu’s (AKA O Pescador), Figueira, including model boats. Landlubbers welcome!
