Mercedes-Benz and Dacia round out the top three
French carmaker Peugeot continued its dominance in Portugal’s car market in 2024, securing the top spot for passenger vehicle sales with 21,613 new registrations, according to data released by the Portuguese Automobile Association (ACAP).
Mercedes-Benz claimed second place with 16,649 units sold, while Dacia rounded out the top three with 16,214.
Renault followed in fourth, selling 15,121 vehicles, ahead of BMW (13,423), Volkswagen (11,740) and Toyota (11,504).
Notably, electric car manufacturer Tesla achieved a spot in the top 10, selling 9,760 vehicles, more than Citroën (9,632) and Seat (7,819).
Despite still featuring among the 10 best-selling brands in Portugal, some heavyweights such as Renault (-6.1%), BMW (-3.9%), and Seat (-5.9%) experienced declining sales compared to 2023.
