The women of Loulé are excited to invite the community to a special Pink Tea Party dedicated to raising awareness for breast cancer and supporting the Associação Oncológica do Algarve (AOA). The event will be hosted by the Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort on Tuesday, October 8, from 3pm to 6pm.
Guests will be greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne and treated to an array of pink-themed cakes alongside a selection of tea, coffee and soft drinks, all for an entry fee of €10. In a delightful twist, the resort is also crafting a unique designer cocktail exclusively for the occasion.
Attendees will have the opportunity to talk to Karen Morgan, a specialist nurse in Women’s Health, who will provide valuable advice and offer optional examinations for those interested. The afternoon will feature a talk from a local specialist in cancer care discussing the latest developments in cancer treatment and others will be available to share their inspiring stories of breast cancer survival.
In addition to the presentations, guests can participate in fun games, followed by music and dancing. “This important event aims to raise awareness of breast cancer and foster community spirit, as both women and men can benefit from the information shared,” organisers state.
All proceeds from the Pink Tea Party will go directly to support AOA, which is promoting its annual Mamaratona on October 20 (see separate article on this page), so participants sign up directly. The Pink Ribbon is the international symbol of Breast Cancer, so organisers ask participants to wear any shade of pink if they can. ~
