PJ arrest man in Loulé wanted for stabbing three people in France

A 19-year-old foreign citizen wanted by French authorities for stabbing three people at a train station in France around one year ago was arrested by PJ police in Loulé last weekend.

The man, who was the target of a European Arrest Warrant and has been a Portuguese resident since he was just 11 months old, is due to be extradited to France, where he could face up to five years in jail. Despite this, he has been released under the requirement of reporting weekly to his local police station and not leaving the Algarve without the authorisation of Évora’s Court of Appeal.
