PJ arrests man wanted for child sex abuse in Brazil

A 43-year-old man wanted in Brazil for the sexual abuse of a 13-year-old child was arrested by the Judicial Police in Armação de Pêra.

The Judicial Police (PJ) arrested a 43-year-old foreign citizen in Armação de Pêra on Thursday. This individual was being pursued by Brazilian legal authorities for crimes involving child sexual abuse and rape that occurred in 2013, as reported by the Criminal Investigation Department of Portimão.

The events took place at different times and locations across Brazil, where the perpetrator took advantage of being alone with the 13-year-old girl, using his power to coerce her into engaging in severe sexual activities.

The man, now detained by the PJ, was sentenced to nine years in prison for these crimes.

He will be present at the Évora Court of Appeal to apply coercive measures.
