PJ police mount searches in Oeiras and Odivelas town halls

In yet another investigation into alleged corruption by council leaders, PJ police are today searching town hall offices in Oeiras and Odivelas. The searches are connected with allegations involving independent Oeiras mayor Isaltino Morais and a number of other council leaders and officers. According to Expresso, also in investigators’ sights  is member of the PSD’s political commission Rodrigo Gonçalves, whose wife works for the legal department of Odivelas municipality. At issue, says the paper, are suspicions of the crimes of corruption, economic participation in business and prevarication.
