PJ swoops on Peso da Régua Town Hall

PJ judicial police have been carrying out inquiries at Peso da Régua Town Hall as part of a public procurement case. The municipality has reportedly expressed its willingness to provide any clarifications, it was announced today. PJ inspectors from Vila Real visited both the town hall and ‘some parish councils in the municipality’, where they collected information, reports Lusa. In a statement, Peso da Régua mayor José Manuel Gonçalves said his administration will continue to be available to provide any clarification that may be necessary’. This case is understood to have originated through “complaints” (presumably ‘anonymous’)
