PM opens gardens of official residence to public for April 25

In keeping with a tradition begun by his predecessor António Costa, Portugal’s prime minister Luís Montenegro will be ‘welcoming’ the public to the garden of his official residence in São Bento tomorrow as part of the commemorations this year of April 25 (Liberty Day) – this year even more poignant because it is the 50th anniversary of the country’s Carnation Revolution. Before the gardens open at 3.30pm, the PM will be having lunch with 50 young people “from various sectors”. The afternoon will have a number of ‘cultural happenings’ (dances and a concert given by singer António Zambujo), closing at 6.30pm.
