PM repeats aim to see Portuguese as official UN language

Portugal’s prime minister has reiterated before representatives of the Council of Portuguese Communities, the objectives of strengthening Portugal’s consular network and, together with Brazil, making Portuguese an official language of the United Nations. Luís Montenegro conveyed these ‘action lines’ during a reception he gave in São Bento for counsellors of the Portuguese communities, which was also attended by foreign minister Paulo Rangel and the secretary of state José Cesário.
