Portugal’s prime minister has rejected any link between the country’s rising number of immigrants and an increase in crime.
“There is no direct link between our ability to welcome immigrants and increases in crime rates,” said Luís Montenegro on Monday at the public presentation of the Action Plan for Migration, which includes 41 measures (see pages 10 and 11).
