A mega police operation caught 52 immigrants, purportedly from Eastern Europe, on Sunday suspected of having stolen more than 18 tons of olives from various groves in the district of Beja. The 52 were found in possession of 22 vehicles and are all believed to have been travelling from Badajoz, Spain. Earlier in the week, police arrested 20 other people in possession of over 2.5 tons of olives.
